Davidoff Art Initiative Call for Application for Caribbean Artist 2016

Davidoff Art Initiative provides opportunities for artists
from the Caribbean to live and work in different cities
worldwide during three months. They are seeking
applications from artists from the Caribbean Region
for residencies taking place between June 2016 and
December 2016.

Flora in Bogotá, Colombia (June - August)
Residency Unlimited, Brooklyn, New York
(September - November);
Atelier Mondial Basel, Switzerland (October to
December).

Davidoff Art Initiative is intended for professional artists
from the CaribbeanRegion with a minimum experience
and recognition among their peers. Artists-in-residence
are provided with accommodation and studio space,
as well as a weekly stipend to offset the costs of materials,
shipping, and day-to-day living expenses. Most travel
expenses are also covered. Artists-in-residence are asked
to do one public presentation, workshop, or similar event
during their residency, as well as to write a final report at
the end of their stay.

How to apply?

The online application and guidelines are available on
our website and can be found on here. Applicants are
requested to submit a single PDF including a
CV, images of past work and a short proposal/letter of
intent (300 words) regarding the residency and which
residency you want to go.

Applications without specifying the residency on the
application will not be taken into account. Once you
started the application you cannot stop or change the
information. Prepare first all the requested material
on the first page, before you start.

Deadline: November 28, 2015

About Davidoff Art Initiative

Since 2013, the Davidoff Art Residency Program has
been helping emerging artists to develop their skills,
make connections within global networks, and earn
exposure for their work. It serves as a conduit for
professional mobility, cultural immersion, and creative
exchange. It is the centerpiece of the Davidoff
Art Initiative.

Each year, artists from the Dominican Republic
and the Caribbean at large are selected to work and
live in leading residencies worldwide: Residency
Unlimited in Brooklyn, New York, United States;
Künstlerhaus Bethanien Berlin, Germany; the Red
Gate Residency in Beijing, China; Atelier Mondial
in Basel, Switzerland; and, Flora, in Bogotá, Colombia.

Please feel free to share this newsletter and information
about the project with artists who may be interested in
applying; we look forward to reviewing applications in
the coming weeks.

GOOD LUCK!
